The North End is Boston’s oldest neighborhood, and one of the oldest in America, continuously occupied since 1630!<\/p>

A highly desirable residential neighborhood for professionals who work nearby, the North End is also a major attraction for tourists and Bostonians alike, who come experience the neighborhood’s unique “Little Italy” feel and to take in over 350 years of rich Boston history.\u00a0 A walk on Boston’s Freedom Trail will take you past sites like the 1680 Paul Revere House, the Old North Church (famous for its “one if by land, two if by sea” lanterns) and Copp’s Hill Burying Ground (the final resting place of some of the North End’s first residents).\u00a0\u00a0Italian restaurants, coffeehouses, pastry shops, markets, delis and small businesses pack the area, especially on lively Hanover and Salem Streets.<\/p>

Residents of the North End enjoy direct access to Boston’s waterfront and HarborWalk, and wide array of public green spaces (including two recently renovated dog parks, bocce courts, an indoor ice skating rink and even a public pool on the waterfront!). Walk Score ranks the North End as Boston’s second most walkable neighborhood and there’s no wonder why.\u00a0 With direct access to Atlantic Ave and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, the Boston waterfront and numerous public transportation options, its not just easy to get around the neighborhood, but to get out of the neighborhood and into the rest of Boston\u00a0 as well.<\/p>

A one square mile neighborhood on a peninsula jutting out into Boston Harbor, the North End exhibits what Zack calls “the 5×5 rule” – meaning it only takes about five blocks or five minutes to get from one end of the neighborhood to the other.\u00a0 This makes learning your way around the winding streets of the neighborhood a little less daunting, but it is the North End’s prime downtown location that makes getting around a breeze.<\/p>

Directly access to Atlantic Ave and the Rose Kennedy Greenway puts South Station and the Financial District within a 15 minute walk, and it will take you 5 minutes, 10 minutes and 15 minutes to reach Faneuil Hall, Government Center and Boston Common respectively by foot.<\/p>

Need to go a little further? The North End offers access to 3 MBTA stations: Aquarium<\/a>, Haymarket<\/a> and North Station<\/a>.\u00a0 Aquarium services Boston Logan Airport (just two stops away!!) and the rest of East Boston via the Blue Line. Haymarket offers service on the Green Line<\/a> and Orange Line<\/a> (taking you as far as Allston\/Brighton, Chestnut Hill, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, Malden and further) and North Station gives you access to both of these T lines, plus the MBTA Commuter Rail<\/a> (which will take you as far as Lowell, Haverhill, Newburyport, Rockport and Wachusett).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
